小学生と大学生のコラボによる海外交流プロジェクト：新たな協働学習の試み
津田ひろみ（実践女子大学・明治大学）
小学校教員志望の大学3年生と公立小学校5年生が校種を越えて「協働」し、ホリデーカードを海外の小学校と交換するプロジェクトに参加した。児童たちは外国へ英語の手紙を送るという初めての体験にわくわくしながら取り組んだ。そして、外国から届いたカードや写真を見て、日本と外国がコロナ禍にあって協力していることを知り、「会ったこともないのにDear friendと呼びかけてくれた」ことに感動し、さらに世界には英語以外の言語があることに気づいた。本発表は「体験的な学習」が異文化や外国語に対する児童の好奇心を引き起こした実践報告であり、小学校におけるCLIL活用のひとつの道を提案するものである。

Cognitive Discourse Functions: An Explanation for the Japanese Tertiary CLIL Context
Stephen McNamara（甲南大学）
In this presentation, Stephen McNamara introduced the Cognitive Discourse Function construct, which was originally proposed by Dalton-Puffer in 2013. The presentation first introduced the components of the construct, and explained how they interact. Additionally, the components were explored for their significance to CLIL pedagogy. Following that, Stephen focused on the theoretical underpinnings of the construct, especially in regards to its relationship to linguistic functionalism. Stephen then explained four applications of the construct's heuristic that have occurred in recent research: applications to assessment; application as a diagnostic tool; a systemic functional application; and application toward developing plurilingual theory. The final section of the presentation was on a possible application of the Cognitive Discourse Function to future local research.
